Suzanne Hudson - Director of Development
The team asked me to forward their grateful thanks for your training. They thought you were fab and indeed Kelly dragged me and the Principal down to the Tech room this morning to show me how everything works - he wanted to demonstrate how one could etch a jaffa cake but I think that is because if he made a mistake he would have to eat it!
I think the laser cutter will be more than fully utilised by our children and young people participating in Technology. As you can imagine for young people with communication disabilities design and all things visual can be extremely effective.
Thank you again. If you ever find yourself down on the Island, please pop in and say hello.
Highcliffe School, Dorset - Simon Nicholls
We received delivery of our V-460 Laser a few months ago. Our experience with both the product and Hobarts service has been extremely positive. Hobarts supported us during the selection process of such a significant piece of equipment and listened to our expectations and needs making recommendations to satisfy our requirements. The installation process, carried out by one of Hobarts engineers, was thorough and left us able to use the product confidently.
Since installation the laser has proved reliable and rapid and evoked an 'awe and wonder' response from the students when watching it in action. Hobarts are also always happy to assist with individual requests based on material cutting issues etc and we are very happy that we selected the Hobarts Laser for Highcliffe School.
Plymouth High School for Girls, Plymouth - Barry Scaffold
Since we purchased the laser from Hobarts, it has enhanced our Design and Technology subject both with design and throughput. It has proved extremely flexible with a variety of materials from acrylic to wood and fabric. Being used by the Textiles department for cutting fabric designs, Graphics for card nets and Materials for a wide variety of design work.
It is used from year 7 right through to year 13 and helps to produce quality design work extremely accurately.
The laser has proved to be an extremely flexible tool and is so popular that we run a lunch time LASER CLUB. This helps to increase the students understanding of technology and makes technology a fun subject.
Our laser has proved to be both robust and reliable, with excellent technical support and advice readily available from Hobarts.
Nottingham Trent University - Paul Roach
Hobarts have been great in helping us to find the equipment that suits us best. The demonstration day allowed us to get a hands-on feel for the laser system and what we could do with it, which was supported by the sales team running numerous samples for us to get the best results we could for our slightly less than standard requirements. The Hobarts team were really nice to work with, being eager to help and excited about what we wanted to do. This has carried though not only until the sale and delivery of the laser, but also the after-sales care.
Our system has been set-up in our new physics laboratories here at Nottingham Trent University in the Centre for Effective Learning in Science (CELS) building. One of the aims of this building is to promote a new image for science within the higher education and school communities. School children are brought into the University and are shown that science is exciting, relevant and more accessible than ever. We prize our new laser system from Hobarts to play a part in this, demonstrating that science is fun.
I look forward to working with Hobarts in the future a fantastic team.
Whitgift School, Croydon - Mr Robert Johnstone
Hobarts are a tremendously friendly company. They deliver on time, within budget and give many extras both as part of the 'agreed deal' but also because they are just nice people! Lucy, who really is Miss Hobarts is a Master of all things Laser - she promotes, sells, demonstrates and always has time for the un-initiated. The machine has been super efficient; easy to maintain; easy to use and just as important - safe to use. The addition of a rotary attachment has enabled one U6th student in particular opportunities to create an exciting water feature which incorporates a long helical screw form enabling bubbles to be 'chased' up a tall, clear tube. We have inculcated the laser into all areas of the Design Technology curriculum at Whitgift - for example, Y9 students have designed clock faces and personalised storage containers.
Certainly, in the relatively short time we have had the Hobarts laser we have found our project opportunities expanding to such an extent that we are in the process of restructuring our KS3+4 PoS to accommodate the type of quality end product now available.
We have just received our first yearly service and have been given a clean bill of health. Hopefully the first of many in the years to come!

If you are looking to buy a laser cutter of any size Hobarts are number one in my book.
When I was given the go ahead to purchase some new CNC equipment for my department I was overwhelmed by the choices. I didn't want to buy anything that was going to be out dated in a few months, I needed a machine that was going to last, easy to use and within a price range.
Hobarts sales staff were second to none, they were happy to discuss my needs and find me a machine that was suitable and would grow with the department. After sales and service has been fantastic and have been there when we need them to answer all our questions. The Laser was delivered in a very professional manner and the inset received was a full day of instruction.
A great company, very friendly, good people, a pleasure to do business with.
St. Anselm's Catholic School, Canterbury, Kent -John Perkins
Selecting Hobarts was an excellent choice as they gave invaluable advice prior to the purchase, through the installation process and then with the subsequent initial training.
No other piece of equipment that I have acquired over 39 years of teaching Design and Technology has had the same dramatic effect on our curriculum and the quality of our outcomes.
Students are fascinated by the process and have raised the quality of their CAD work to meet the potential of the laser cutter
It is incredibly reliable, accurate and robust and easily withstands constant daily use as it is so easy to teach from KS3 onwards. Older students can use it quite independently from staff involvement
I am always confident that the friendly team at Hobarts are always ready to provide quick support whenever it is needed.
St. Augustines Technology College, Trowbridge, Wiltshire -Kieran Walsh
The Universal Machine we bought from Hobarts has produced consistently excellent results on a wide range of materials.
The technical support has been second to none and the team at Hobarts have dealt with all enquiries and problems quickly and professionally. I would highly recommend Hobarts to any school considering buying a laser cutter.

Home Office Scientific Development Branch - Mark Lynch
We've found it to be an extremely versatile piece of kit and as a result have used it in a range of applications we initially did not envisage. It compliments our existing traditional machine-shop equipment and has even made us reconsider the manufacture of a number of parts in plastic, which have historically been made in metal.
We have been very pleased with the excellent level of service Hobarts have provided. They have been both prompt and informative. Likewise the training they supplied enabled our technicians to be productive immediately
